FRIDAY FUN

Stipula_fountain_penAah, it’s Friday again. There’s nothing better than winding down after a long week and letting the creative side kick in. Today, I thought we’d have a bit of FRIDAY FUN by chatting about CHARACTERS.

For me, character development is the most fun part of writing a story. I’m not happy until my characters are living, breathing people with unique personalities, habits, and quirks…until they’re so real I can almost touch them. It stings to remember I’m probably the only one to see them that way, and can only hope my readers love (or hate) them as much as I do. If you are like me and feel the characters you’ve created deserve some recognition, here’s your chance to brag a little. Tell us something about ONE character in a book you’ve written.

  • What makes that person stand out?
  • In what ways are they similar to you?
  • In what ways are they unlike you?
  • Were they inspired by you/someone you know?

Add the book title and one link.

  1. My favorite character in my book would be Jesse. He is completely cool and doesn’t even know it. He loves with his whole heart and doesn’t hold back. Jesse loves to work on cars, bikes, ATV’s, basically anything with a motor. He is good with his hands, loves God, supports his family and friends.
We share a love of God and motors, however I could not say that I was completely cool.
Jesse was inspired by one of my best friends in high school.

  2. Thanks for the fun opportunity.

I’ve chosen Pauline, my heroine from Love Finds a Way (The Album 2). I think Pauline is actually quite similar to me in that she doesn’t like being in the limelight or the centre of attention. She’s quiet and sensitive, but also cares for those in pain. She’s a foodie which I am to a certain degree but I wouldn’t like to cook for a living. Pauline also has spunk and an ability to stand up for herself. I love the way she slapped Xaden across the face when he kissed her. I adore her sense of humour and her drive and ambition. Although quiet, she knows what she wants out of life and goes for it. She has an inner confidence which I’d like to copy.

Pauline wasn’t particularly inspired by anyone. She just came to me in stages.
